Harper's Ferry Images was created as a means to stretch myself a bit and try and find an outlet for mastering something different in my life. It was also a response, quite honestly, to the COVID-19 pandemic -- an effort to re-establish some "relating" to the people around me in early 2021. I love meeting people, relating to them, and knowing their stories. Capturing some images along the way makes it so much the better.
Harper's Ferry Images was inspired by Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, a small town on the Appalachian Trail, which my wife Stacy and I "thru-hiked" in 1999. Seen as the emotional "halfway point" on the more than 2000 mile hike from Georgia to Maine, in the same way, Harper's Ferry Images represents the emotional "halfway point" in my life. I'm aiming to "see" more of life in front of me as I move further down this Trail that God has me on.
My focus at this point is on capturing the most true-to-life image and then, whenever possible, to only apply a minimal amout of editing to the image. My emphasis is on letting the client speak for themselves as best I can. I'm just there to try and capture a good moment when I can. My image and editing style leans mostly towards "clean", true-to-life color and use of light.
